BRISTOL COUNTY CONTINUUM OF CARE

The CoC pursues a comprehensive response to homelessness using a “Continuum of Care” methodology through a community-based network. The BCCC is a membership-driven collective of over 60 organizations, agencies and individuals committed to working together in addressing all variants of homelessness particularly those experiencing chronic homelessness and those unsheltered/unhoused.

COC COMPETITION TIMELINE 2023

The 2023 Continuum of Care (CoC) funding competition convened by the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) opened on July 5.2023 and will conclude no later than HUD’s Submission deadline of September 28, 2023.  Given the less than 90 day turnaround on the grant deadline, New Bedford's own CoC Competition Calendar is highly accelerated. 2023 Data is Now Available!

The City of New Bedford has completed its annual “Point In Time” (PIT) count creating a census of those individuals and families experiencing homelessness within the city, both sheltered (living in emergency or transitional housing) and unsheltered (on the streets/in places not meant for human habitation). COLD WEATHER OVERFLOW SHELTER – WINTER 2023-2024

Overview prepared by Catholic Charities  Catholic Charities is providing emergency shelter through a Cold Weather Overflow Shelter Project to unsheltered homeless at a local motel (with a total of 15 units set aside and a total capacity of 30 beds for the overflow shelter).  This will be offered when there is no vacancy at either of the Catholic Charities Shelters.
